Rectors' conference of the German conservatoires
The Rectors' Conference of the German Music Universities is the amalgamation of 24 music universities in Germany .
The Rectors' Conference of the Universities of Music organizes two music competitions with high impact in national and international musical life: a university competition and the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Prize .
tasks
- Coordination of music university-specific tasks with regard to teaching, research and artistic development projects
- Advice and information from individual music academies on questions of supraregional importance
- Promotion of the exchange of experiences in content-related and organizational issues
- Perception, support and enforcement of common interests
- Promotion of young musical talent
- Representation of the interests of conservatoires vis-à-vis ministries, parliaments, university associations, educational committees and organizations of German and international musical life
- Participation in the design of study reforms, university legislation, and study and examination regulations,
- Maintaining contact with other educational institutions
“The German music academies take care of the optimization of musical education and artistic development on a national and international level. For this purpose, the German music universities cooperate in Germany z. B. with the German Music Council, with the Conference of Ministers of Education, with the Association of German Music Schools, for projects abroad with the DAAD, with the Goethe Institute, the embassies and other actors.
