Relic procession
Procession with the relics of St. John of Tobolsk in June 1916
A relic procession is a pious exercise common in the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches , in which relics are carried through towns, corridors or districts with prayer and song. Such processions often take place annually on the corresponding festival of the church year , such as the festival of a saint or the translation festival of his relics.
