Remigijus Žaliūnas
Remigijus Žaliūnas (born July 2, 1961 in Alsėdžiai , Plungė district , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian cardiologist , professor , since 2010 rector of the University of Health Sciences of Lithuania .
Life
After studying from 1968 to 1971 at the Alsėdžiai middle school and high school from 1971 to 1979 at the 4th Plungė Middle School , he graduated from the Kauno medicinos institutas (KMI) in 1986 and from 1988 to 1990 the postgraduate course at the KMI Cardiology Institute . Žaliūnas received his doctorate in 1990 and qualified as a professor in 1995.
From 1986 to 1987 he was an internal doctor and from 1987 a cardiologist at the Kaunas University Clinic . He has been a professor since 2000 . From 1998 to 2002 he was Director of Studies, from 2002 to 2010 Rector of the Medical University of Kaunas. He has been the rector of LSMU since 2010.
