MSR stands for M odular S niper R IFLE. The MSR is compatible with the .338 Lapua Magnum , .300 Winchester Magnum , .338 Norma Magnum and 7.62 × 51 mm NATO calibers . The magazine, the barrel and the bolt action have to be replaced in order to vary between the caliber sizes. The Remington MSR is a repeating rifle , the empty cases are ejected by repeating the slide and a new cartridge is reloaded from the magazine.
