Renée Friedman

Renée Friedman is an American Egyptologist .

biography

Renée Friedman studied Egyptology at the University of California at Berkeley . She received her doctorate in 1994. She wrote her dissertation on Predynastic Settlement Ceramics from Naga-ed-Deir and Hierakonpolis . Overwhelmed by the wealth of the predynastic Hierakonpolis, she became a member of the Hierakonpolis Expedition under Fred Harlan and in 1996 its deputy director. She has been a curator at the British Museum since 1996 .
