Rena Scherezhevskaya

Rena Mitchad Qizi Mustafabejli-Schereschewskaja ( Azerbaijani-Cyrillic Рена Митхад гызы Мустафабейли-Шерешевская, English Rena Shereshevskaya * 17th June 1954 in Baku , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian pianist and piano teacher Azerbaijanis.

Career

Born in Russia, she began playing the piano at the age of five in a Russian conservatory, then in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. There she studied with Lev V Klassenko, among others . At the age of 22 she graduated with honors as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher.

From 1991 to 1993 she headed the piano department at the Ippolitow-Ivanov Music Academy in Moscow.

In 1993 she was invited to Colmar to take up a professorship at the Conservatory. She has given master classes all over the world (France, USA, Canada, Italy etc.). She prepared the French pianist Lucas Debargue for the 15th Tchaikovsky Competition , where he won the 4th prize and the audience prize from an outsider position.

Her student Alexandre Kantorow won first prize in the following competition in 2019.
