The Renard Glacier is a glacier on the Danco coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows into the southernmost part of Charlotte Bay on Gerlache Strait .
Participants in the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery mapped it. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the French aviation pioneer Charles Renard (1847-1905), who in 1884, together with Arthur Constantin Krebs, built and flown the first fully controllable airship .
