Dietrich Lang-Hinrichsen

Dietrich Lang-Hinrichsen (born March 11, 1902 in Breslau as Dietrich Lang ; † March 2, 1975 in Mainz ) was a German legal scholar , university professor and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

Lang-Hinrichsen studied law at the University of Breslau from 1920 to 1923 . There he received his doctorate in 1926 with a thesis on criminal proceedings for Dr. iur. From 1927 he worked as a court assessor until he was dismissed from civil service in November 1933. In 1940 he went into exile in Brazil, where he studied philosophy and history until 1944. Lang-Hinrichsen returned to Germany in 1949 and was initially an associate professor at the Humboldt University in East Berlin from 1950 onwards . From 1950 to 1953 he was a lecturer at the University of Bamberg before he was appointed full professor at the University of Freiburg in 1953 . On July 7, 1954, he was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. After retiring from the judicial service due to reaching the age limit, Lang-Hinrichsen became full professor for criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Mainz on April 1, 1964 . There he taught and researched until his retirement in 1970. From 1966 to 1967 he was dean of the law and economics faculty in Mainz.

Lang-Hinrichsen was the bearer of the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of St. Gregory the Great . In addition, the University of Cologne appointed him honorary professor on May 18, 1961. After him, Professor Dr. Dietrich Lang Hinrichsen Foundation .
