Renate Rathmayr

Renate Rathmayr (born April 28, 1947 in Graz ) is an Austrian Slavist .

Renate Rathmayr first studied Russian and French at the University of Graz and graduated in 1971 with a state examination and a diploma in translation. She then worked at the University of Innsbruck , where she received her doctorate in 1975 with a thesis on the perfect present tense in Russian and qualified as a professor in 1985. From 1989 to 2015 she was a full professor for Slavic languages ​​at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

Rathmayr started as an aspectologist and then turned to pragmalinguistics, to which she has made a number of important contributions. Since she started teaching at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, she has also published regularly on Russian business language.
