The Hôtel d'Anvers (also known as Hôtel d'Emskerque) in Besançon , a town in the Doubs department in the French region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté , is a Hôtel particulier from the late 16th century, located at 44 Grande -Rue is located. The building has been protected as an architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1994 .

history

The Hôtel d'Anvers was built from 1585 to 1590 for a member of the city's notables . During the French Revolution it was rebuilt for state administration purposes.

architecture

The building with a U-shaped floor plan has pilasters on the street side and an ornate cornice . The portal is crowned by an explosive gable.
