Rentershofen ( Westallgäuerisch Renterschhof e ) is a village in the municipality of Röthenbach (Allgäu) in the district of Lindau and part of the Westallgäu region . The place is about one kilometer southwest of the main town Röthenbach. The Rentershofen leisure center with an outdoor pool, soccer field and multi-purpose hall is located in the village . To the west of Rentershofen is the Rentershofen railway embankment .

The name Rentershofen refers to the first settlers with the name Renther or Ranther back, which means fighter with the shield .
