Oberhäuser ( West Allgäu Ob e hais e ) is a village in the municipality of Röthenbach (Allgäu) in the district of Lindau (Lake Constance) and part of the West Allgäu region . The Röthenbach (Allgäu) train station is located in the village .

history

The name Oberhäuser goes back to the term Oberhüsern , which means "above the holy house (church)". The remains of a burgus from the time of the Roman Empire can be found near Oberhäuser . In 1806 Oberhäuser became Bavarian through the Peace of Pressburg . The construction of the Rentershofener embankment of the Allgäu Railway from 1847 to 1853, at the northern end of which is Oberhäuser, was characteristic of the place. The dam meant an enormous geographic encroachment on the place. Today's senior center Josefsheim and the local chapel were founded in 1929 by nuns from Liechtenstein .
