Rescue Iceland (of English rescue , rescue, salvage ' ) is a small island off the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . It belongs to the Rauer Islands and is located 700 m southeast of the center of Varyag Island .
Australian scientists named it after a rescue operation of researchers stranded on Ranvik Island , during which the rescuers from Efremova Island made a stopover on this island in order to scout the further route via a channel southeast of the Hyslop Islands .
