history

Retgendorf and Schlagsdorf are first mentioned in a document in 1241 as Retekenthorpe and Slawekisthorpe. From the 14th century until the second half of the 18th century, both places belonged to the extensive holdings of the von Sperling family . Later the owners changed frequently. Since the first half of the 18th century, a distinction has been made between old and new Schlagsdorf. The municipality of Retgendorf dissolved as a legal entity at the end of June 12, 2004 and merged with the municipality of Rubow, which was dissolved at the same time, to form the new municipality of Dobin am See.

coat of arms

Retgendorf coat of arms
Blazon : “Split; in front two silver sparrows turned left, one above the other, in blue; behind in silver two jumping blue fish on top of each other. "

The coat of arms was designed by Roland Bornschein from Wismar . It was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on November 9, 1995 and registered under No. 94 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Reasons for the coat of arms: In the coat of arms, the sparrows, which have been borrowed from the von Sperling family crest, which shows three silver sparrows in blue, are intended to remind of the former local lords who determined the development of the place over the centuries. The fish refer to the location of the village on Lake Schwerin and to the fishing industry in the Neu Schlagsdorf district. Due to the merger with Rubow to form the new municipality Dobin am See on June 13, 2004, the municipal coat of arms lost its status as a national emblem. However, it can still be used by the residents as an identification symbol and as a sign of solidarity with their place.

flag

The former municipality did not have an officially approved flag .
