Reto Müller (born July 18, 1978 in Langenthal ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Müller grew up in Thunstetten-Bützberg and Langenthal . From 1995 to 2000 he attended the state teachers' seminar in Langenthal, between 2004 and 2006 he added a postgraduate course for real teachers at the University of Bern and the University of Education in Bern . For 12 years he worked as a real-world teacher in Bützberg. Later he worked for 4 years as a research assistant at the Institute for Further Education and Media Education at the University of Education in Bern. He is currently Mayor of Langenthal and Grand Councilor in the Canton of Bern.

In 2013 he married the SP politician Priska Grütter. In 2014 their son Yuri Andrin Grütter was born. In 2017 their second son, Valentin Jakob Grütter, was born.

In 2008 Reto Müller was sworn in as the youngest city council president in the history of Langenthal. In 2009 he moved to the Langenthal local council, where he is currently president. In March 2013 Müller inherited the seat of Nadine Masshardt , who moved to the National Council in the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . In the 2014 elections to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern , Müller was re-elected. From 2014 to the end of 2016 he was a member of the Health and Social Commission of the Canton of Bern. He has been a member of the cantonal building and planning committee since January 24, 2017. For the Langenthal city elections on September 25, 2016, Reto Müller was nominated as a candidate for the city council on March 4, 2016 by a broad-based, non-partisan citizens' committee and by the parties EVP, GLP, Greens, JUSO & SP. In the first ballot on September 25, 2016, he achieved the best result of the three candidates, but narrowly missed the absolute majority. On October 16, 2016, he was elected as mayor of Langenthal in the second ballot.
