Rescue Medal (Lippe)

The rescue medal was donated on May 25, 1888 by Prince Günther Friedrich Woldemar by ordinance and could be awarded to all persons of any gender who distinguished themselves through decisive and courageous action, regardless of danger, for saving the life or property of others to have.

The silver medal shows the Lippe coat of arms and above it the prince's crown . All around WOLDEMAR FÜRST ZUR LIPPE 1888 . On the reverse an oak wreath tied with a double bow , with the inscription FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER .

The ribbon is cornflower blue.

With the abdication of Prince Leopold IV zur Lippe on November 11, 1918, the order was no longer awarded and instead was re-established by the Lippe state government on May 12, 1925.

The medal is made of silver-plated bronze and shows the Lippe Rose in the center on the front, * LAND * LIPPE * all around and below two crossed laurel branches . On the back, surrounded by a laurel wreath, the inscription FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER can be read.

The ribbon is red and yellow.
