Reuben Courtney Noble-Lazarus (born August 16, 1993 in Huddersfield ) is an English football player on the position of a striker and left winger . At the age of 15 years and 45 days, he became the youngest player in the history of the Football League to make his first league appearance.
Career
Noble-Lazarus played for the U-18 side of Barnsley FC as a twelve-year-old and scored all three goals in a 3-2 win for the U-18s against Sheffield United a few days before his debut in the club's professional team. He made his debut on September 30th in the 3-0 loss to Ipswich Town when he was substituted on in the 84th minute.
Noble-Lazarus replaced the previous record holders Albert Geldard (1929 for Bradford Park Avenue ) and Ken Roberts (1951 for AFC Wrexham ), who made their competitive debut at the age of 15 years and 158 days. A week later he was also in the league home game in the 4-1 win against Doncaster Rovers shortly before the end of the game.
