Reza Fazeli ( Persian رضا فاضلی; * 1935 in Tehran ; † April 13, 2009 in California ) was an Iranian actor , documentary filmmaker and opposition activist.

Life

Fazeli served in the Iranian Air Force and left the country in 1953. He first lived in Lebanon and Egypt , and later for eight years in France , Germany , Great Britain and the USA . He received a diploma in philosophy of religion . After returning to Iran in 1962, he became a successful film actor in the 1960s and 1970s. Because of the Islamic Revolution , he left Iran again. With his production company KVC , Fazeli shot documentaries against the new rulers.

Fazeli survived an assassination attempt in which his son died. Since 2002 he has worked for two channels in the USA that corresponded to his political orientation, Azadi TV (until 2005) and Pars TV . He published his biography The Survivor in 2002.
