Rhaban Straumann

Rhaban Straumann (born May 29, 1972 ) is a Swiss actor , satirist and author . He lives in Olten in the canton of Solothurn , Switzerland .

Life

Straumann completed his teacher training in Zofingen from 1993 to 1995 and worked from 1995 to 1999 as head of the Blauring & Jungwacht Canton of Solothurn office in Olten. During this time he trained to become a theater teacher and actor. From 1999 to 2001 he attended the Comart School for Theater, Mime and Dance in Zurich .

As a co-founder of Theater Ni , with productions such as the performance of Portrait of a Planet by Friedrich Dürrenmatt in Langenthal in 2002 and with numerous own productions, Rhaban Straumann is one of the actors in the independent theater scene in the canton of Solothurn.

As a writer and cabaret artist , Straumann has created characters that he presents in comic and satirical scenes. Since 2006 he has been performing cabaret and theater pieces together with the actor Matthias Kunz from Bern in the satirical duo Strohmann-Kauz , of which Landfroue-Hydrant and Weidmannsheil! have been shown for a long time. A production based on a text by Pedro Lenz and other works complete the repertoire. In Olten, the duo has been successful since 2012 with a satirical city tour and other appearances by the characters Ruedi & Heinz . In 2012 the two artists initiated the cultural Advent calendar 23 shooting stars in Olten.

Rhaban Straumann realizes tours, performances and readings with various musicians, above all with the pianist Roman Wyss from Olten, with whom he has performed his Ges (t) ammelten works and, since 2007, the evening program Nachtfieber . Bernese jazz musician Werner Hasler supports her in the Zeitschnipsel program .
