The Rham plateau in Luxembourg (city) is washed by the Alzette on three sides . It was settled early. It has been part of the Luxembourg fortress since the construction of the third curtain wall in the 15th century .

Under French rule, Vauban had five military barracks built here at the end of the 17th century . Social institutions have been housed in these buildings since the end of the 19th century . The Rham Plateau has been used as a retirement home for several years.

From the front of the Rham plateau one has a beautiful view of the military buildings and fortifications of the Holy Spirit Citadel and the so-called Corniche .
