The Rheinisch-Bergisches TechnologieZentrum ( RBTZ ) is a start-up center located in the TechnologiePark Bergisch Gladbach , 15 km east of Cologne . The company founded as a GmbH is an institution for municipal and regional economic development . The mandate and common goal of the public law shareholders is to identify the start-up potential in the region and to promote promising developments. The start-up center is located in the TechnologiePark Bergisch Gladbach , the largest industrial park in the region with around 140 companies on 120,000 m². The location is in the south of the city of Bergisch Gladbach , in a triangle between Friedrich-Ebert-Straße (postal address: Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 75) and Overather Straße and has direct access to the Königsforst recreation area . The A4 motorway junction ( Moitzfeld junction ) is 500 m away. The main train station in Cologne and the Cologne-Bonn Airport can be reached in just over 15 minutes, the Dusseldorf airport is about 30 minutes by car. The TechnologiePark is connected to the local public transport network via two bus stops (line 420 stop "Bockenberg" and line 455 stop "TechnologiePark"). Tram line 1 of the Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe with connection to Cologne city center is 3 bus stops away. There are two free charging stations for e-bikes and electric vehicles in the TechnologiePark.
The RBTZ is located within the TechnologiePark in the immediate vicinity of approx. 140 commercial enterprises, including company-related service providers and other economic development institutions in the district (Rheinisch-Bergische Wirtschaftsförderungs GmbH, STARTERCENTER.NRW, Naturarena Bergisches Land).
