The Rhenbek is the only tributary of the Wöddelbek . It rises and flows into Henstedt-Ulzburg in the Segeberg district , Schleswig-Holstein and belongs to the Alster river system .

course

The Rhenbek rises in or directly north of a small elongated lake, about 50 m north of the Hamburg Nord substation . From there it flows to the east-northeast and bends twice sharply after 250 m, where it joins two ditches. About 540 m after the source it flows under the Norderstedter Straße and continues to flow east-northeast. After another 200 meters, it flows into a larger lake (dimensions approx. 65 × 160 m), shortly after it has joined another moat. It crosses the lake for about 30 m and after another 90 meters crosses the northern extension of the Quellenweg . 140 m further it flows south along an approx. 0.3 ha large lake, first bends sharply to the north-northwest and after 70 meters again sharply to the west-northwest. Then it flows for 330 m directly south of the Reiherstieg along the edge of the forest and passes another lake to the north, until it joins the Wöddelbek coming from the north at the end of the Reiherstieg . After a further 80 m this flows into the Alster, which itself rises about 900 m south.

The Rhenbek is about 1.8 kilometers long. It is the drainage ditch for the Rhen industrial area . About 250 meters behind the source, the Rhenbek becomes the main public rainwater canal, which flows into it from the north. The Alster-Rönne water maintenance association is responsible for maintaining the water.
