Rhipsalis cereoides is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rhipsalis cereoides grows lithophytically , shrubby, drooping or semi-upright with shoots of unlimited growth. The triangular to rarely square, cloudy bluish green shoots are 4 to 10 centimeters long and have a diameter of 1 to 7 millimeters. Their edges are straight. The small, not sunken areoles are often covered with 2 to 4 bristles.

The wheel-shaped, white flowers appear individually or in groups of two to four and reach a diameter of up to 2 centimeters. The fruits are light pink in color.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rhipsalis cereoides is in the east of Brazil on gneiss - inselbergs common. The first description as Lepismium cereoides was published in 1936 by Curt Backeberg and Otto Voll . Curt Backeberg placed them in the genus Rhipsalis in 1938 .

Rhipsalis cereoides was in the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN in 2002 as " Vulnerable (VU) , d". H. classified endangered. After the revision of the list in 2013, the species will be classified as " Near Threatened (NT)". H. listed as low risk.
