Rhipsalis micrantha is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Rhipsalis micrantha growing epiphytic with strong, hanging and never whorled branching stems . The slightly differently shaped, yellowish green shoots are flat or triangular. Older shoots are also four- to six-ribbed. The shoots have a diameter of 1.2 centimeters or more. The edges are slightly rounded. The areoles are covered with one to four bristles.
The individual, white flowers appear on the side of the shoots. They are 6 to 10 millimeters long and 6 to 11 millimeters in diameter. The spherical fruits are white to dirty white and often tinged with red. Their diameter is 5 to 8 millimeters.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Rhipsalis micrantha is common in Costa Rica , western Venezuela , Colombia , Ecuador and northern Peru .
It was first described as Cactus micranthus in 1823 by Karl Sigismund Kunth . Augustin-Pyrame de Candolle placed the species in the genus Rhipsalis in 1828 .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
