description
Rhu-Na-Haven is isolated on the left bank of the Dee around 300 meters outside Aboyne. The two-story Arts and Crafts villa has an L-shaped floor plan. It has architectural elements typical of the region, for example the exposed brickwork made of granite blocks .
In the interior, the high-quality work and paneling made of oak, the lighting with silver applications and the ornamented chimneys are to be emphasized.
The one-story lodge, built in 1911, has a square floor plan. The main facade of the building designed by Lorimer is three axes wide. It closes with a curved, slate-covered pyramid roof .
A broken stone wall encloses the elongated gardens, which were built by Lorimer around 1911. An ornamented gate with maple motifs leads to the gardens. On the east side there is a small pottery room with arched openings and a hipped roof . A one-storey building with an attic once housed the servants' quarters.
