Rhyan Bert Grant (born February 26, 1991 in Bathurst ) is an Australian football player in the service of the A-League club Sydney FC .

Career

Grant was accepted by the Australian Institute of Sport in 2008, but after just a few months he moved to the youth department of Sydney FC for the newly founded National Youth League , with which he won the championship title in the 2008/09 debut season. At the end of December 2008, he was first used for the professional team in the A-League and established himself in the team in the following weeks.

In the following season, Grant continued to play mainly in the youth team, for the professional team he mostly played as a substitute in nine games. In the play-off games, which Sydney completed by winning the championship, Grant was not used.

In October 2013, Grant tore a cruciate ligament in the derby against the Western Sydney Wanderers and is expected to be out of the 2013/14 season .

With the Australian U-20 selection , Grant took part in the U-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009 and in Colombia in 2011 , but failed with his team both times in the preliminary round. In 2010 he was Asian runner-up with the U-20 team.
