Ria Schindler (born May 1, 1953 in Mediasch , Transylvania , Romania ) is a German theater and television actress of Transylvanian-Saxon descent.

Life

Ria Schindler emigrated from Romania at the age of nineteen as part of the German minority. Schindler completed her acting training at a private school in Munich. She also studied Romance languages ​​and English. She has appeared on the theater stages in Stuttgart, Munich, Kaiserslautern and Hanover, among others.

Ria Schindler became known to a wide audience through the role of Vera Schildknecht in the television series Lindenstrasse . Schindler played the role from episode 119 (first broadcast: March 13, 1988) to episode 229 (first broadcast: April 22, 1990).

After Lindenstrasse, Schindler returned to the theater and appeared in 1990 at the Theater am Holstenwall in Avery Hopwood's Der Mustergatte . In 2008 she played a role in Antigone by Sophocles at the Ernst Deutsch Theater .

Ria Schindler was married to actor Marcel Werner , son of Hanns Lothar and stepson of actor Hansjörg Felmy , until Werner's death in June 1986.
