Rica Matsumoto

Rica Matsumoto (松本 梨 香 Matsumoto Rika, born November 30, 1968 in Yokohama , Japan ) is a Japanese actress , voice actress and singer . She was one of the founders of the anime band JAM Project.

She is not to be confused with the daughter Rika Matsumoto, born in 1983, of the Japanese subway bomber Shōkō Asahara .

life and work

After a freelance stage work, she began both dubbing roles and singing.

Rica had her best-known role as Ash Ketchum, the main character in the anime series Pokémon. She also had a role on Yu-Gi-Oh as Ryo Bakura and Yami Bakura. Matsumoto also took on many dubbing roles for boys. She sang in many intros for the Japanese Pokemon anime.

Matsumoto has held leading or supporting roles in dozens of series. She also had a radio show in Japan and translated some American films and TV series into Japanese. Matsumoto was also one of the founders of the JAM project in 2000. She announced in April 2008 that she would be taking a break from the group to pursue her solo career.
