Riccardo Milani

Riccardo Milani (born April 15, 1958 in Rome ) is an Italian film director .

Life

Milani worked in the second half of the 1980s as an assistant for Mario Monicelli , about whom he later made an interview documentary. He then worked as assistant director for various colleagues on their films and made his debut in 1997 with Auguri professore in the Italian halls, an analysis of the Italian school system at the turn of the century and thus a continuation of Daniele Luchetti's La scuola . La guerra degli Anto , created two years later, was followed in 2001 by Milani's Il sequestro Soffiantini, shot for television . He also shot a large number of commercials and a few short works. In the new millennium he worked intensively and intensively for the screen; from 2008 also for two series successes. Two of his films made during this time were nominated for several awards: 2003 Il posto d'anima and 2007 Piano, solo . He is known as the "new neorealist".

Milani has been married to actress Paola Cortellesi since 2011 . The couple has a daughter (* 2013). Milani has two other daughters from a previous marriage.
