Richard Abé

Richard Abé (born August 15, 1840 in Elberfeld (today a district of Wuppertal ), † September 17, 1919 in Annen ) was a German steel mold caster .

Life

Richard Abé was the son of the cotton weaver Johannes Abé and worked as an engineer after completing school. In 1872 he became a production engineer at Stein & Co. in Annen and worked in the company's own steelworks , the new owner of which later became the manufacturer F. Asthöwer. In 1886 the steelworks Asthöwer & Co. was taken over by Alfred Krupp and Abé took over its technical management. As a successful steel mold caster, he achieved lasting importance.
