Richard Bars
Richard Bars (born August 15, 1890 in Berlin ; † October 5, 1987 ) was a German librettist and lyricist .
Life
From 1919 Bars was a board member of the Association of German Stage Composers and Stage Writers. Together with the copyright holder Wenzel Goldbaum , he founded the central office for stage authors and publishers in 1923. It was followed by the Letters' Supply Foundation - also an initiative by Richard Bars.
With his participation, the Association of German Librettists and Song Poets was created in 1945, which in the early 1960s gave itself the current name " German Text Poet Association ".
Richard Bars was a member of the GEMA supervisory board . The estate of Richard Bars and his wife Hertha went to the GEMA Foundation.
