Disguised children

Richard Borrmeister (born June 18, 1876 in Gevelsberg ; † August 24, 1938 in Nuremberg ) was a German genre and silhouette painter .

There is no information about his artistic training. Borrmeister initially worked in Berlin and from 1923 in Nuremberg.

As the father of fourteen children, he had to accept every profitable assignment. He created sweet postcard pictures, advertising posters, only rarely did he paint prestigious season pictures in the academic style.

For the Hermann Wolff publishing house in Berlin, he created not only the postcard images but also silhouettes in the style of the paper cuttings that were popular at the time. He also wrote two illustrated children's books.
