Richard Graef

Richard Graef (born December 5, 1899 in Schweinfurt , † April 7, 1977 there ) was a German spiritan and book author .

Life

Richard Gräf was born into a civil servant family in Schweinfurt. From 1917 to spring 1919 he was a soldier on the Western Front. In 1921 he passed his Abitur and on March 25, 1922 in Heimbach the profession . He completed his theological studies in Knechtsteden . There he was ordained a priest on March 19, 1927. In 1938 he was appointed to the reign of the seminary. Since he wanted to continue to look after the brothers and seminarians called up for military service, he came into conflict with the Gestapo . From 1948 to 1954 he was superior of the German religious province of the Spiritans. Gräf was above all a spiritual writer. He wrote a total of 13 books, which have appeared in numerous translations and editions. He died in his native city of Schweinfurt.
