Richard Grünschläger

Richard Grünschläger (born September 17, 1929 in Witten ) is a German social democratic politician and was the district president in Arnsberg .

After high school, Grünschläger became a municipal official in 1945 and attended the administration school in Dortmund and the administration and business academy in Bochum .

Grünschläger has been a union member since 1949 and has been a member of the SPD since 1951. Grünschläger had been a member of the board of the city association of his party in Witten since 1958. from 1966 to 1977 he was a directly elected member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1970 and 1972 Grünschläger was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD. He was a member of the SPD parliamentary group executive in the state parliament from 1975 to 1977.

In 1977 Grünschläger was appointed regional president in Arnsberg . He held this office until 1990.

In 2019, the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia awarded him the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .
