Raghilt Berve

Raghilt Berve (* 1933 ) is a German spatial planner and was the district president in Arnsberg .

Life

Berve is a trained architect and was named Dr. with a paper on city expansion in the 17th and 18th centuries. Ing. PhD. She initially worked in building construction in Essen and Copenhagen before moving to the state administration of North Rhine-Westphalia after various other professional positions . Berve was head of the regional planning department in the Düsseldorf administrative region . Afterwards she was senior ministerial advisor in the Ministry for Urban Development, Housing and Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia. Later she was group leader at the parliamentary state secretary for equality. Berve is a member of the SPD. From 1990 until her retirement in 1998 she was the district president in Arnsberg. This made her the first woman in this position in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Berve is a member of the Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning and the Academy for Spatial Research and Regional Planning. She is also a member of the advisory board of the "Westfalen Initiative" association and numerous other organizations. She has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class.
