Richard James (educational scientist)

Richard James (born March 9, 1956 ) is an Australian education scientist and university professor. At the end of the 1970s he was also successful as a sprinter .

Live and act

Richard James put at Melbourne State College the Diploma of Education from and received at the University of Melbourne to the Bachelor of Science , the Master of Education and Doctor of Education.

He holds a Chair in Higher Education at the University of Melbourne and is the University's Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic). Since 2006 he has been Director of the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Melbourne and since 2008 Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Administration.

In his sporting career he was sixth over 100 m at the Athletics World Cup in Montreal in 1979 and came with the Oceania team in seventh place in the 4 x 100 meter relay . In 1980 he became the Australian 100 m champion.

He has been a member of the Melbourne University Sports Board since 2014.
