Richard Kohlberger

Richard Kohlberger (born August 16, 1911 in Augsburg ; † January 2, 1990 there ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Kohlberger completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter , which he completed with a journeyman's examination. He then worked as a machine fitter and diesel fitter until 1947. In 1927 he joined the German Metalworkers' Association (DMV). He took part in World War II and was captured.

Kohlberger became involved in the union after the end of the war. He joined IG Metall and had been youth secretary at the Bavarian Trade Union Federation since 1947 . After further training at the Akademie der Arbeit , he worked from 1951 to 1958 as a secretary on the board of IG Metall in Frankfurt am Main . In 1958 he became managing director of an administrative office of the union in Augsburg.

Political party

In the late phase of the Weimar Republic , Kohlberger joined the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold in 1931 . He joined the SPD in 1945, worked as a party functionary in Augsburg from 1946 to 1951 and then in the same position in Frankfurt am Main.

MP

Kohlberger was a council member of the city of Frankfurt am Main. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1972. He always entered parliament via the state list of the SPD Bavaria .
