Richard Leinert

Richard Leinert (born August 2, 1903 in Hanover ; † March 12, 1962 there ) was a Lower Saxony politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Leinert attended the Bismarck School and the Realgymnasium in Hanover from 1910 to 1923 and began studying law and political science in Göttingen and Berlin (1923 to 1927) following his Abitur (February 28, 1923 ). After passing the legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Celle in March 1928 and passing the major state examination on August 4, 1932, he began working as a lawyer in Hanover.

From 1923 to 1933 Leinert was a member of the Reichsbanner Black-Red-Gold . Until 1933 he was also a member of the SPD. According to his own statements, he was arrested by the Gestapo in 1935 on charges of illegal political activity. From 1935 to 1945 Leinert was in the NSV , from August 1, 1936 to 1945 in the Nazi Legal Guardian Association and from 1935 to 1945 in the Reich Colonial Association .

From 1939 onwards, Leinert did his military service in World War II (including as a war administrator and corporal, including in Norway, Greece and the Netherlands). Since the time of the local implementation of the Holocaust falls during the time of his function as head of the legal department at the military administration in Saloniki in the area of ​​responsibility of Max Merten from June 1, 1942 , it can at least be assumed that he was aware of these events.

On April 6, 1945, he was taken prisoner by the French . After his release on September 10, 1946, he resumed his work as a lawyer in Hanover. On April 26, 1949, the Hanover Main Denazification Committee placed him in the group of people not affected by the denazification law.

During the first electoral term, Leinert was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from April 20, 1947 to April 30, 1951.
