Richard Lloyd (born October 25, 1951 ) in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania is an American guitarist and songwriter . He became known as the second guitarist of the New York rock band Television alongside the front man and singer Tom Verlaine , among other things with the legendary album Marquee Moon , which influenced numerous musicians through the special way in which the two guitars were used. Lloyd also played solo albums and in the band Rocket from the Tombs . He lives as a painter in Chattanooga , Tennessee .

biography

After Verlaine (actually Thomas Miller) founded the band "The Neon Boys" with his school friend Richard Hell (bass, actually Richard Myers) and the drummer Billy Ficca in 1972, Richard Lloyd joined the band as the second guitarist in 1973, since then as television . They were one of the leading bands on the New York underground scene, including as one of the house bands in the CBGB . After two albums, however, they broke up in 1978. In the 1990s there was a reunion of Television, in 1992 their third studio album was released. After that the band gave sporadic appearances.
