Richard Ross (born February 10, 1946 in Danzig as Richard Rozenboom ; † May 20, 2001 ) was a Dutch magician and two-time Grand Prix winner.

Life

Richard Ross' father was Dutch and his mother was from Poland. His parents moved to Holland with him when he was still a baby. When Richard Ross was 16 years old, he discovered a magic shop and bought his first tricks there. Later he went to the magic school of Henk Vermeyden , who at that time trained and advised many magicians.

At a magic congress in Holland, Richard Ross showed manipulations with very large playing cards (giant cards) for the first time and caused a sensation. He developed the traditional game with the interlinking steel rings (ring game with often six or eight rings) into a new sequence of effects with only 3 rings.

So far, Ross is the only magician to win the Grand Prix at FISM congresses twice in a row (1970 in Amsterdam and 1973 in Paris). Richard Ross had been a full-time magician since 1974.

On March 3, 1984, he founded the Magic Art Center in Holland , where seminars and events are held.

The center will be continued by his wife and former stage partner Veronique (as of 2018).
