Richard Rowley

Richard "Rick" Rowley (born 1975 ) is an American journalist and filmmaker of documentaries , which in the Academy Awards in 2014 for his work on Dirty Wars: The World Is a Battlefield along with Jeremy Scahill for the Oscar in the category Best Documentary nominee . He is one of the founders of Big Noise Films and the Independent Media Center media network .

Rowley has received awards for his productions at various film festivals. He received the Cinematography Award at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival for his camera work on Dirty Wars: The World Is a Battlefield .
