Richard Phené Spiers (born May 19, 1838 in Oxford , † October 3, 1916 in London ) was a British architect and watercolor painter.

Spiers studied first in London and from 1858 to 1861 in Paris with Jean-Louis Pascal . Since his studies he exhibited almost every year at the Royal Academy in London, where he directed the architecture school from 1870 to 1906.

Works

Spiers was the architect responsible for the expansion of Umberland Hall in Warwickshire and the renovation and expansion of Beckett Hospital in Barnsley. Two of his watercolors, one from 1884, are on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
