Richard Vyškovský

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Richard Vyškovský (born July 13, 1929 in Vienna , Austria ; † August 1, 2019 ) was a Czech architect . He was best known as the author of cardboard models that have been published in the youth magazine ABC since 1969.

In the 1960s he worked for the reconstruction of historic cities and buildings (SÚRPMO).

Because of the difficult procurement of Matchbox models in Czechoslovakia, he decided to construct a similar model out of paper. He chose a Packard Landaulet as his model, which he completed in collaboration with Pavel Blecha in 1969. In the years that followed, Vyškovský / Blecha produced numerous models, which were also published in ABC magazine. In 1976 his first independently developed model appeared, a Formula 1 Ferrari 312-T2 Niki Lauda for ABC. Since 1997 models of his have also appeared at ERKOtyp, of which his son Richard is co-owner and managing director.
