Richard Wetherald

Richard "Dick" Tryon Wetherald ( 1936 - October 9, 2011 in Newtown , Pennsylvania ) was an American climate scientist. He did pioneering work in computer-aided climate modeling .

Life

He was married and had three children.

Act

In 1967, Wetherald and Syukuro Manabe were able to use one of the first climate models to calculate the strength of the warming of the atmosphere by doubling carbon dioxide to a value of 2.3 degrees Celsius.
