Richardson Lakes

The Richardson Lakes are a small group of meltwater lakes in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . They are located at the foot of Mount Riiser-Larsen on its northwest side and immediately east of Amundsen Bay .

Aerial photographs were taken in 1956 by scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). An ANARE team led by the Australian geodesist Graham Alexander Knuckey (1934–1969) visited them for the first time in November 1958. It is named after Sergeant Alan Keith Richardson (* 1930) of the Royal Australian Air Force , a crew member on the Antarctic flight from Mawson Station in 1958.
