Barker played 13 years in non-league football , that is in divisions below the Football League , before he signed a professional contract with Derby County in 1967 at the age of 28 . Other stations in his career as a player were Notts County and Peterborough United . Barker has coached Shrewsbury Town , Stoke City and Notts Counties . At West Bromwich Albion he also worked as chief scout.
