history

The Swamp Foxes were founded in 1999 and started as one of the fifteen participating franchises in the newly founded af2 in 2000. The first game in franchise history was lost on April 8, 2000 at the Pensacola Barracudas with 41:48. The first home game was also the game with the most speed spectators. The 13:44 defeat against the Augusta Stallions was followed by 10,631 spectators in the same year. In general, their debut season could have ended much more successfully if the Speed hadn't lost all of their first seven. Of the remaining nine games, seven were won.

Undoubtedly their greatest success celebrated the Speed with the entry into the ArenaCup in 2001. However, they lost this just 51:55 against the Quad City Steamwheelers .

After the 2003 season, the Speed were dissolved.
