The Richthof Tunnel is a 3,510 m long railway tunnel on the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg south of the Hessian market town of Niederaula .
course
The structure lies between the Fuldatalbrücke Solms to the north and the Schwarzbachtalbrücke in the south.
The gradient rises continuously to the south in the tunnel.
history
planning
The structure was in planning section 15 of the middle section of the new line.
construction
The structure was posted on December 8, 1983.
For the construction, the tunnel route was divided into a valley and driven from four sides. The valley was finally filled in with the masses from the excavation and an overburden of one to two meters was created in this area and then covered with grass . As an ecological compensation, a pond was also created in the newly created valley. The ecological effects had previously been examined in a 500 m wide strip along the future tunnel route.
