Rick looker
Rick Looker (born May 1, 1971 in Thief River Falls , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey referee . From 2005 to 2010 he was one of three professional referees in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
Career
Rick Looker was the first foreign referee in the DEL. Various DEL team players and coaches were very critical of Looker's performance after a few games. The referee committee of the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) publicly stood behind Looker several times and certified him professional and sporty clean performances.
He also took part in World Championships and Olympic Winter Games as an official . Among other things, he directed the scandal game of the ice hockey world championship in 2006 between Latvia and Canada .
After the 2009/10 DEL season, Looker ended his career in the DEL for family reasons and went back to his homeland.
