The Rickmers Holding AG is a German shipping company group, which in 1982 by Bertram Rickmers was founded.

history

In December 2015 the group consisted of a total of 95 group companies (at that time also with Rickmers Reederei , Rickmers Shipmanagement and Rickmers-Linie ); it was present in eleven countries and was represented by over 50 agencies. It employed around 2,200 people at sea and on land. The business areas Maritime Assets & Maritime Services are headed by Holger Strack.

In 2016, a merger with ER Schiffahrt was planned.

On November 15, 2016, the subsidiary Rickmers Maritime Trust , based in Singapore, reported insolvency. On June 1, 2017, the bankruptcy petition for self-administration followed at the Hamburg District Court . In February 2017, the Bremen shipping company Zeaborn bought the heavy lift company Rickmers Linie . In September 2017, Zeaborn bought Rickmers Shipmanagement, the core business of the widely ramified Rickmers Group. ER Schifffahrt was also bought by Zeaborn in 2018. In August 2018, the ship management of the companies within the Zeaborn Group was merged under the name Zeaborn Ship Management . Zeaborn Ship Management is a third party manager based in Hamburg and Singapore.

In December 2015, a total of 130 ships were administered and managed, of which 52 were wholly owned by the group and a further twelve ships were partially owned as part of a joint venture . The fleet consisted of around 90 container ships (including eight VLCS for 13,600 TEU), 13  Superflex Heavy Multi Purpose container ships with crane capacities of up to 640 t (combined), 22  bulk carriers and three car transporters .
